In 2007 he was elected as President-Chancellor of Reformed Theological Seminary. After being set aside because of a serious illness involving a human virus, Dr. Milton returned to university, completing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Milton and Mrs. Milton are parents to their son, John Michael, in Charlotte area, and to seven children with families from the Eastern Seaboard to the Deep South and Florida [for security, Dr. Milton, an Army Colonel serving the intelligence community, takes precautions in sharing information about his adult, married children and families.]
The Miltons enjoy gardening, particularly hybrid roses, travel in the “Old North State,” and the Golden Age of Hollywood. And hotdogs.
Dr. Milton is a board certified pastoral counselor and chaplain and a supervisor in clinical pastoral education. His desire is to pour his experience, education, gifts, and knowledge into the lives of people in the Weddington community. He seeks to accomplish this mission of healing through assembling and deploying a gifted team of ministry professionals, through conducting worship services that seek to give glory to God and speak peace to the human soul made in God’s image, and through preaching Bible messages that explain the divine truth, diagnose and treat the spirits of all of us, and apply the salve of salvation in the love of Christ.
